Chris Poole, 29, from Cold Spring Harbor, NY ranks among the top match racers in the world. Having grown up on small boats along the coast of Maine, Chris diversified his skills at Maine Maritime Academy where he completed his first ocean crossing and represented the United States at the Student Yachting World Cup in France. Chris accelerated his climb to the top of the international match race rankings over the past 6 years, training in Oyster Bay, NY and traveling the world, competing against the best in the sport. Currently ranked 14th in the world and 2nd in the US, Chris has led his Riptide Racing team to success in the cutting edge classes of competition.

Before working and sailing at Oakcliff Sailing Center, Chris Kennedy cut his match racing teeth on Foundation 36's and Elliott 6m's in Australia. Before that he attended University of Virginia as an aerospace engineer, but majoring mostly in sailboat racing all over the east coast. His early years growing up in Wisconsin, aka: Melges country, sailing on famous Lake Geneva has given him a very solid base upon which to build his sailing experience. Now with Riptide, he is ready to jump on any boat, anywhere and show the world what the team can do.
