Chris Poole and the Riptide Racing team make yacht racing history as they win their first U.S. Congressional Cup Undefeated! This is the first time in modern match racing history that a team has won a full format double round robin WMRT event without losing a single race. The team was incredible all week executing every maneuver to perfection. Not seen in the live stream was the fact that Riptide led 23 of 24 first top mark rounding's thanks to strong pre-starts and good boat speed.
Sailing this week was Matt Cornwell on Bow, Luke Payne in Pit, Mal Parker on Trim, Bernardo Freitas on Main, Joachim Aschenbrenner on Tactics, and Chris Poole on the Helm. The team is ecstatic with this historic win at one of the most prestigious events in the world. Skipper Chris Poole said "To win my first Crimson Blazer is incredible, but to win it this way in unreal. So many of my hero's have competed for and won this event but none of them were ever able to win it this way."
